NEW: Cargologic processes ULDs for Envirotainer
Since April 2019, Cargologic has been handling temperature-controlled units for Envirotainer, the market leader in cold chain solutions. Envirotainer helps its customers in the pharmaceutical industry to deliver temperature-sensitive products all over the world. As part of its mission, Cargologic sought a new solution for storing, maintaining and supplying empty Unit Load Devices (ULD). “We have managed to win over Envirotainer thanks to our complete range of services at Zurich Airport, our core expertise in air freight handling and our flexible implementation”, explains Marco Gredig, Managing Director of Cargologic. “The service handling of empty ULDs is a further key milestone for the future-oriented development of our company and our services.”
Cargologic now takes on empty ULDs from Envirotainer’s customers after lease by the airline and then carries out an inbound inspection in F10. The condition and technical functions of the containers are checked and they are cleaned inside and out. Afterwards, the ULDs are stored in F10. Lastly, before Cargologic returns the containers to Envirotainer’s customers, they are subject to an outbound inspection, including a system check, and set to the required temperature specifications.
During its first three weeks handling ULDs, Cargologic had already carried out 352 inbound and 312 outbound inspections. On average, between 180 and 200 empty units are stored in F10.
